I absolutely LOVE New Years! I love the idea of starting off a new year fresh, like a clean slate! I love the hope and determination it brings to be better and to do new things! It’s really motivating to me! I’ve always set new years resolutions but this year I decided to do something different than I have in the past. I’ve decided to dedicated this entire year to becoming a better me. I know that might sound silly, but in making that decision I have found so much peace with myself and motivation to really change some things in my life to become an all around better and happier person!
I have divided it up into 4 different sections: Physical, Spiritual, Business and Mental. With sub-categories and goals in each section to help myself grow! For example, under Physical I have Eat better (cook more and eat out less) and work out at least 4 times a week. Under spiritual I have daily prayer and scripture study as well as more temple attendance. Under Business I have answer emails and texts promptly, shoot XX amount of weddings, and some other goals I’m really excited about. And then under Mental I have don’t say “yes” to everything, don’t compare myself to others, and be more positive. There are some more goals under each of those but each one is really geared to becoming a better and happier me.
For the past 3 or so years I have found myself on an emotional rollercoaster on so many different levels. Mental highs and serious lows that just aren’t healthy and bring unnecessary sadness, worry and stress. Tyler can totally attest to this but I am seriously a control freak. I have this constant need to have control over every situation and everything that happens in my life. Well starting with these goals I have decided to let certain things go and the difference I have seen already in myself is amazing.
So far in just focusing on myself and the goals I’ve set for myself I’ve already lost 10 pounds, feel so much more confident, have stayed on schedule with my business tasks and feel so much more happy and together mentally! This next year is going to be bringing some huge changes in my life and Tyler’s life and that’s why there’s no better time than the present to make sure that I can be the best I can be in all areas of my life! And let go of stress and worry that isn’t going to benefit myself or my future family in the long run! I already feel so free and positive about this next year! So yay for 2017!! 🙂
Happy New Year!!
Here are some photos from Christmas Break that I forgot to upload!! We went on a road trip to St. George and Vegas, had fun at a Jazz game, another one of our best friends had their baby boy, celebrated my brother’s 17th birthday, and made some gingerbread cookies and watched some old classic Christmas movies!
